    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hammond NAACP Branch Presents Annual Freedom Fund Banquet

August 4, 2015: The Hammond, Indiana, NAACP Branch will present noted Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter and The Sounds of Motown at its annual Freedom Fund Banquet.

    About the Event

The Hammond NAACP Branch’s success has continued because of the existing partnership among business, educational, religious, civic, and community organizations. We will hold our annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Dynasty Banquet Hall, 4141 Calumet Avenue, Hammond, Indiana. The cost of an admittance ticket is $50. Social hour begins at noon, with the luncheon starting shortly thereafter.

The guest speaker for the event will be Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter. Prosecutor Carter has long been active in community affairs, serving in many capacities with charitable associations, legal groups, and professional organizations on state and local levels. Of African-American heritage, Prosecutor Carter has earned many firsts: the first elected black judge in Lake County’s history, the first elected black prosecutor in the history of Lake County and the State of Indiana, and the first elected black president of the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council for two terms.

The Moods, with the sounds of Motown, will provide the entertainment for the afternoon. The Moods are a singing group dedicated to the fine arts of harmony and choreography. They have performed and arranged background vocals for other artists and radio and television commercials. They have performed with and opened for such major talents as the Temptations, the Spinners, Mary Wells, Bernie Mac, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, the Stylistics, the Impressions, the Chi-Lites, and many others. The Hammond NAACP Branch continues to work with every segment of the community to remove barriers for a better quality of life.

  • Hello,

My name is Joshua Williams, artistic director of a KCMO based band called: Shades of Jade.

The group is preparing to release a new upcoming single (which will be on their upcoming sophomore album as well) for pre order on iTunes August 10th and we would like to do radio interviews to talk more about it and other upcoming events for the band.

We also would like airplay for the single before the release date.

So given our desires, we would like to come on air to 106.3 to talk more about the single, the band, along with other things, sometime before or after August 21st (the release date), if you have such a schedule opening.

Getting our single played on your station would be awesome as well. We could even play it live on air if a slot is open.

    Can we make this happen?

  • 2Starr2x BIO: The girl & boy band, 2Starr2X started July 2011. They are a group of siblings who perform together. Tynk 19, An’Gel 18, Akin 15 and Jrok 12 are all different in age, but they bring the party at their performances for all ages. This new, exciting and hip band is sure to get the crowd going with their new music sound, style and performance. 2Starr2X are the writers and co-producers of all their original material. They are definitely hands on and play a very vast part in the decisions of performance material, costumes, hair, make-up and the entire concept of their performance production. Between school, football, becoming young entrepreneurs, and rising star performers, there’s not much idle time for the youth group. Everyone can become a fan on Face book at 2Starr2X, follow them on Twitter at 2Starr1. Join them on Instagram at 2Starr2x. You can link up to their website through face book or just Google 2Starr2x. Look for great music and messages from 2starr2x.
