Today in Hip-Hop and R&B we join the millions of fans as they wish the Queen Bey herself, Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter a Happy 37th Birthday.  Beyonce is known for her singing career all over the world. Originally joined together with her singing sisters in girl group Destiny’s Child which became one of the biggest girl group in history.

Beyoncé made her film debut in Austin Powers in Goldmember in 2002 and released her debut album, “Dangerously in Love” which was released in 2003. This was the album that established her as a solo artist worldwide. With hits like Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”from the album debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and earning five Grammy Awards, as well as being featured on the Billboard Hot 100 number one singles.

After the break up of Destiny’s Child in 2006, in collaboration with Sony Urban Music and Music World Entertainment, B’Day was first released in the United States through Columbia Records on September 5, 2006 the day after Beyoncé’s twenty-fifth birthday. It was first released in Austria, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Poland and Switzerland four days prior to the release in the United States, on September 1, and was released in various countries to coincide with Beyoncé’s birthday on September 4. It was her second solo album and it contained her fourth number one single, “Irreplaceable”, as well as the top ten singles “Déjà Vu”, and “Beautiful Liar”. Beyoncé also continued her acting career, with starring roles in The Pink PantherDreamgirls both in 2006. While being married to rapper Jay-Z and starring as Etta James in Cadillac Records in 2008 both influenced her third album, “I Am… Sasha Fierce which was released in 2008, and Obsessed with Idris Alba in 2009.

Throughout her career, Beyoncé has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the world’s best-selling music artists.She has won 22 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award’s history. She is also the most awarded artist at the MTV Video Music Awards, with 24 wins, including the Video Vanguard Award.

As for her release of her album entitled “BDAY” the album earned several awards including the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling over 541,000 copies in its first week of sales and scoring the second-highest debut-week sales for Beyoncé. Beyoncé then went on her second solo concert tour, titled The Beyoncé Experience, in 2007; a live album titled The Beyoncé Experience Live was released featuring footage from the tour. B’Day has since been certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and has sold eight million copies worldwide as of 2015. 

As for today Beyonce and her husband continues their tour together with their next stop being September 11, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Her fans continue to pay homage to the great icon and wishes her nothing but the best birthday.
